Leopards Athor, called Arttu, appeared to our life few years ago as a kitten.
We weresearching a cat to us and got interested in this breed which partly
still is a hybrid ( cross between wild and tame cat). Arttu is a BENGAL cat,
interesting new spieces to our group of Dobermanns.
Bengal cats
should be calm and well behaving, quite like our domestic cats even if quite
near in their pedigree is a wild ancestor. Cats are very different from the
dogs in their behaviour. Of course cats like dogs have considerable behavioural
variation among individuals and breeds.
Arthur has spotted fur just like his ancestors Asian Leopard Cats. But there are many other color variations in the breed. The spots can be of different colours on a white background (snow or lynx) or the pattern can be stripes or marble going though the body in certain particular arrangement.
Arttu
is quite amazing in his capacity to escape. He doesn't care if he has spectators
or not, if he believes he had find a way to run away. We have decided to keep
our cat outside as much as possible, but at the same time we have no enthusiasm
to let him run free without a control. Maybe that is a habit we have grown
beeing dog owners, but today we find it also more safe with cars all around.
Cat is a born hunter and we love our birds around. Also not all people like
cats spraying their doorways, even if the urine of a castrated cat doesn't
smell so much.
Arttu can be very calm and as a matter of fact this is the position he stays most of the daytime. There are still certain hours in his daily schedule which he uses for catching food from us. Then he is expectionally loving, but we already now know it is pure selfisness from his side. Still we are touched whenever he preferes to show his charm to us!
